Role Summary

A research associate position is available in Creative Biolabs, a biotechnology company based in Long Island in New York State. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual.

Basic Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline, and 1-2 years of biotech/pharma industry experience is preferred.
Experience with basic molecular biology techniques, required.
Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques, required.
Experience with transient and stable mammalian protein expression, required.
Experience with WB and ELISA is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), required.
The successful candidate should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and contribute to the strategic goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

He/She will be a team member in the production of recombinant proteins, and play a critical role in the discovery/development of novel molecular reagents
He/she will be expected to participate in experimental design, conduct experiments, optimize throughput, maintain detailed records, and generate standard operating procedures
Design and conduct experiments with limited supervision from Scientists
Evaluate data, make observations, troubleshoot, and keep detailed records in laboratory notebook
Communicate results and observations to colleagues in team meetings

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform research on phage and microbial pathogens, including genetic modification of bacteriophages and bacterial hosts and animal testing.
Apply molecular biology techniques for targeting vector cloning and construction to generate engineered bacterial viruses.
Design and execute biochemical,biophysical, and genetic experiments.
Participate in meetings and discussions with product development teams to propose and design custom solutions.
Responsible for troubleshooting and correcting scientific issues/problems.
Support sales efforts including pre-sales technical presentations and discussion on experimental design to improve our win rate in complex sales situations.
Independently plan, coordinate, and perform microbiological and genetic studies of bacteriophages and bacterial pathogens.
Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and techniques required to accomplish research duties.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in molecular biology, cellular biology, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields;
Ability to complete complicated tasks independently;
Significant experience of working with infectious/pathogenic bacteria.
Able to apply scientific training to solve manufacturing and operational issues.
Positive attitude, outgoing personality, hardworking, and open-minded;
Attention to detail plus critical data analysis and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales of phage-related products and services.
Build trust-based relationships with new customers to win new business opportunities in engineered phage industry.
Collaborate cross-functionally for proper utilization of internal resources.
Monitor sales performance and customer feedbacks on phage-related products and services.
Project planning and oversight. Coordinate and develop program goals, strategic plans, and project quotations.
Meet or exceed customer expectations and develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments affecting target markets.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in molecular biology, biology, microbiology, virology, emerging infectious diseases, biochemistry, or related fields.
2+ years of extensive experience in the field of bacteriophage science, virology, and bacteriology.
Demonstrated strong entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative behaviors, and good negotiation skills.
Experience with publishing and presenting scientific work to customers.
Excellent interpersonal, telephone, presentation, oral, and written English skills.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical and CRO industry required.
Positive attitude, outgoing personality, hardworking, and open-minded.
Highly motivated and capable of self-learning.
