Phage Amplification

Phages are viruses that infect bacteria and play an important role in many ecosystems. phages are ubiquitous in nature, living in all environments where their bacterial hosts exist, including water, soil, some foods, and even the human body. The number of phage particles in the world is estimated to be about 10³¹ virus particles, which makes them the most abundant biological entities on our planet. Almost since the discovery of bacterial viruses, the bactericidal properties of phages have been used. In view of the rapid increase in antibiotic-resistant bacteria, phage therapy is considered to be one of the most promising alternatives to classical therapy. Phage amplification is one of the most common phage manipulation procedures, and high-titer preparations are beneficial both in the experimental stage of research and in practice. At Creative Biolabs, we provide customers with five commonly used phage amplification methods: (i) combined plaque method, (ii) plate washing method, (iii) agar culture method, (iv) two-stage culture method, and (v) in liquid culture.
