We developed a unique phage display technology to discover new highly restricted peptides. Our proprietary Cys-constrained random peptide library construction technology generates highly constrained redox-stable peptides with enhanced affinity, selectivity, and proteolytic stability for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Phage display is a technique that enables de novo discovery of peptides against any target of interest by exploring DNA-encoded peptide libraries. Phage is a virus that infects bacterial cells. We can identify peptide binders for a given target by mimicking the evolutionary process. This powerful technology can screen a library of billions of different peptides in less than four weeks. However, the ability to screen such a large library does not guarantee the identification of lead peptides for the protein of interest. This is because the search must also include the correct chemical space, which is known to be highly target-dependent. Thus, we can probe different parts of conformational peptide space, since binding to different proteins requires multiple complementary shapes at the peptide level.
