Phage Tagging

Phage TaggingPhages are mandatory intracellular parasites that enter suitable host cells and usurp their functions to promote self-replication. Therefore, the phage life cycle includes a series of complex interactions between the phage and the host cell's protein, structure, and machinery. The characteristics of these interactions are not only qualitative but also quantitative, which is essential for a true understanding of phage replication. We use isotopic labeling and fluorescent labeling for phage research. Isotope labeling is a technique used to track isotopes through reactions, metabolic pathways, or cell pathways. Reactants are "labeled" by replacing specific atoms with their isotopes. Fluorescent labeling technology is a technology that connects the covalent bond of a fluorescent group to proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecular substances that can recognize molecules. The technology uses the specific group of the fluorescent signal substance to react with the specific group of the recognition molecular substance to complete the labeling process, and use the fluorescent properties of the label to provide the signal of the detected object.
